VIRUS WARNING SIGNS AND DETECTION/PREVENTION

       1.  The computer crashes or freezes indiscriminately such as program not responding errors, blue screen of death or the computer just shutdown without warning. “It is not necessarily a virus as it could be caused by new software or drivers to name a few other causes”.

2.      A slow computer could be the result of a number shenanigans happening on your computer. Malware infections like viruses and spyware however are widely considered to be a primary reason for a computer suddenly becoming slow.

3.       Strange activity on your computer could indicate a virus, for example strange message on your computer like “Your computer is now a property of Easter bunny”.

4.      If the computer will not boot it could mean a virus has corrupted your computer though as always there is other possibilities of hardware failure.


      5.    Another warning sign that your computer is infected with viruses is programs and windows             popping up randomly.

6.      Disk can’t be accessed.

7.      Printing doesn’t work correctly.

8.      File size changes for no apparent reason.

9.      Un command disk drive activity.

10.  An increase in the number of files on the system when nothing has been added.

11.  Applications that don’t work correctly.





Use Antivirus Software: This is a must for anyone with a computer that is connected to the internet ever. It is also valuable for those who share files via disks, network connection and so on. Antivirus software help users prevent infections, find them if they are present and eradicate them. Programs like Avira Antivirus are especially helpful in offering a robust line of prevention tools.

Keep software updated: All software on a machine should have the latest patches installed. This enables a computer owner to run a machine using the latest antivirus protocols.

Be wary about downloads: Do not just downloads files or programs for the sake of doing so. Run a virus scan, know the source and be very careful to avoid files that comes from unknown sources.

Be careful with emails: Email attachments can and frequently do contain viruses. Make sure an email program has a scanning tool available before accepting download.

Update your anti-virus software regularly: Thousands of viruses are discovered each month, so you’ll want to be protected.

Back up your files on a regularly basis: If a destroys your files, at least you can replace them with your backup copy. you should store your backup copy in a separate location from your work files, one that is preferably not on your computer.
